I would argue that this is Redding's finest fast-meal restaurant.  I say fast, because they can have any number of pasta dishes out to your table within minutes of ordering.  I say meal because this is not fast food.  This is a MEAL!  The Pasta Pronto near B&N has had a secret menu for some time now (it may not be so secret now), including many different fish/pasta/vegetable choices (Salmon, Mahi Mahi, etc.).  The Mahi Mahi & Fettucine Alfredo is a great combo (all of the dishes come with a great array of steamed vegetables).  Simply ask if they have any fresh fish available, and they are always happy to cook it up.  The owner and his staff are absolutely wonderful, and have made every venture a joy.  When I'm with a group of friends looking for a decent meal for a decent price, we always go here.

For being fast Italian food, this place isn't bad.  They have quite a few vegetarian and vegan options, and the staff is friendly.  It's a good value for the price.

Pasta Pronto :( I will miss you on Churn Creek. You are by far my favorite restaurant in Redding... I'm not sure if there will ever be a restaurant that will take your place in my heart. Thanks for all the free icecream, the delicious low-carb chicken piccata, spaghetti, warm bread, and your fish specials. The staff has always been extremely accomodating! I'm so sad-- every other restaurant is over-priced, small portioned and has bad food for the most part. Redding you seriously need to up your game.

I have not been to Pasta Pronto in years and a friend and I were craving some later than average in the evening (they close at 9) eats so we decided to try this place out.  First impression- The place is clean and it was like walking into the United Nations. Italian food cooked by Mexicans and served by Asians. Nice! Culture in Redding? Say it aint so! Finally!  The food was fast and inexpensive, the salads were large and the service was friendly. My pizza was so-so and her ravioli worked for her. We would go back.  Support this local biz. Get there on a Sunday and they will even comp you a free soft-serve cone for dessert. Nice touch!
